The best way to get organized at home
There’s no question, as a parent, one can always shop for a tidier mud room, cuter baskets, a better calendar, a funkier binder or lunchbox to help you get organized this September. Organization is a key topic in the media right now…it’s everywhere.
When it comes right down to it, the best way to get organized at home and get your kids set up for success is to focus on carving out realistic chunks of time and working with your kids to start one system at a time and make it into a habit.
Will you start with cleaning out lunchboxes, hanging up coats and backpacks or creating a landing pad for notices as they come home from school? Maybe it will be building a homework plan or teaching how to pack the hockey bag. Slow and steady wins the race.
When we focus on taking the time to teach the young people in our home, they feel capable and we build family habits that work perfectly.
